Stories carry meaning
Family stories often preserve what records cannot: emotion, personality, migration memories, household routines, conflict, humor, work, grief, resilience, and the small details that make ancestors feel human.
Stories should not be discarded because they are not formal records.
Evidence tests details
Documents, photographs, dates, locations, and source notes help test whether a story can be supported, refined, or corrected. Evidence does not make a story less valuable. It helps future readers understand which parts are confirmed and which parts are remembered or interpreted.
Keep labels clear
A careful archive can separate:
- Fact
- Evidence
- Interpretation
- Hypothesis
- Conflict
- Open question
This is especially useful when multiple relatives remember a story differently, or when records point in more than one direction.
Preserve the human and the proof
Roots Adventure Full Archive is designed for projects where evidence and story need to live together. Lite Archive keeps the lighter memory-preservation path available for families that need a gentler start.
